Israeli Ambassador Hanan Godar paid a courtesy call on Chairperson Dahal


Kathmandu, Chait 27. Hanan Goder Goldberger, the Israeli ambassador to Nepal, had a courtesy meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal.

In the meeting held in the office of President Dahal at Singhdarbar on Tuesday, the issues of diplomatic relations and mutual cooperation between the two countries were discussed.

On the occasion of the meeting, President Dahal discussed that Nepal-Israel diplomatic relations have reached 60 years and expressed his belief that the relations between the two countries will be stronger and closer in the future.

President Dahal said that Nepal is a country that favors peace, "We are always in favor of peace, peace and stability in the Middle East," he said, "Mutual cooperation between Nepal and Israel in multilateral platforms including the United Nations has strengthened the relationship between the two countries."

Mentioning that the peace process in Nepal is coming to an end after a long conflict, President Dahal said that Nepal is now on the road to economic prosperity and for that, significant support from the Israeli government is needed.

Expressing grief over the incident that happened to the Nepalis who had reached Israel under the Earn and Learn program, President Dahal requested that urgent steps be taken to find the missing Nepali student Bipin Joshi. President Dahal mentioned that even now about 4 thousand Nepali workers are in Israel and expressed his concern about their safety and employment.

Discussing the significant number of tourists coming to Nepal from Israel, President Dahal urged as many Israeli citizens as possible to take the initiative to visit Nepal in the coming days and contribute to the promotion of Nepal's tourism.

On that occasion, Israeli Ambassador Hanan Godar discussed that the relationship between Israel and Nepal is very close and said that Nepal is very rich in terms of art, culture, tradition and tourist places. Saying that he had the opportunity to stay and work in Nepal for a long time, the ambassador said that many tourist destinations in Nepal, including Everest, Lumbini, Chitwan, Pokhara, Rara, etc., have given Nepal's identity to the world.

Mentioning that the Learn and Earn program was initiated by himself, Ambassador Godar said that many Nepalis learned skills from Israel and worked well in Nepal through the program. He said that unfortunately, he visited the victim's house in the last incident. He also mentioned that the Israeli government has expressed its commitment to support the families of Nepali students killed in Israel, even if they are young. He informed that efforts are still being made to search for Bipin Joshi.
